Out-of-Prague offices of CNB departments, specifically the České Budějovice Operational Division of the Cash and Payments Department and the České Budějovice Distribution Inspection Unit of the Retail Distribution On-Site Supervision Division, which carries on selected supervisory activities of the Financial Market Supervision Department II, are located at the České Budějovice regional office.

Responsible for

  • executing payments
  • maintaining accounts of the state budget and other clients and state financial assets and liabilities accounts, including cash operations on those accounts

We wish to inform our clients and the public that the CNB’s cash office at this location closed down permanently on 1 November 2024.

Services for clients – deposits and withdrawals of banknotes and coins, including foreign currency, can be made by clients at the CNB headquarters in the Prague branch and at CNB regional offices in Hradec Králové, Brno or Ostrava.

Services for the public – the exchange of damaged banknotes and coins will continue to be available at the cash desks of commercial banks, which are required by law to provide this service. In the case of the exchange of invalid banknotes, the public can use the CNB’s services in Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Hradec Králové. They can either visit the relevant branch in person or send the invalid banknotes by post.

The CNB will continue to provide non-cash services to its clients at this location until the end of 2026. After this date, it will communicate with clients and handle their requests almost entirely via a web interface, enhancing and expediting cashless services across all regions.

  • performing on-site supervision of investment intermediaries and their tied agents, independent intermediaries of supplementary pension savings and their tied agents, insurance intermediaries, policyholders offering the possibility of becoming insured, independent consumer credit intermediaries and their tied agents, foreign intermediaries of consumer credit for house purchase and accredited persons.
