On 26 March 2025, the Czech National Bank is putting into circulation a CZK 100 commemorative silver coin depicting the Supreme Court from the Institutions of the Czech Republic cycle. The coin is minted from an alloy containing 925 parts silver and 75 parts copper and is issued only in proof quality. Proof-quality coins have a highly polished field, a matt relief and a plain edge. The coin is 29 mm in diameter, weighs 9 g and is 1.8 mm thick. As with any other coins, deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. Upward deviations in weight of 0.18 g and silver content of 1% are permitted.

Coin description

The upper part of the obverse side of the coin depicts a framed composition of stylised heraldic animals from the large national coat-of-arms of the Czech Republic. The mark of the Czech Mint, in the form of the letters “Č” and “M”, is to the left of the frame. The lower part of the coin features a fragment of the façade with the entrance portal of the Supreme Court in Brno. The text “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA” is written along the upper edge of the coin. The denomination and abbreviated monetary unit “100 Kč” are incorporated into the façade fragment. The year of mintage “2025” is situated at the bottom edge of the coin. The centre of the reverse side of the coin depicts the allegorical figure of Lady Justice holding an open book in her hands. The pans of a balance scale are to the right and left of Lady Justice. The text “NEJVYŠŠÍ SOUD” is written along the upper edge of the coin. The initials of the designer of the coin Zbyněk Fojtů, made up of the letters “F” and “Z”, are located at the bottom edge of the coin.
