On 1 October 2024 the Czech National Bank is issuing the eighth gold coin from the Municipal Heritage Sites cycle. It features the town of Moravská Třebová. The coin is minted from 999.9 purity gold and is issued in two versions, normal quality and proof quality, which differ in surface treatment and edge marking. Proof-quality coins have a highly polished field, a matt relief and a plain edge. Normal quality coins have milled edges. The coin is 28 mm in diameter, weighs 15.55 g and is 1.85 mm thick. Deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. Upward deviations in weight of 0.062 g and in gold content of 0.01% are allowed.
The obverse side of the coin depicts the Town Hall and part of the Renaissance chateau, including the arcades in its courtyard. Stylised heraldic animals from the large national coat-of-arms – the Moravian eagle, the Czech lion and the Silesian eagle – are situated above the arcades. Above the animals is the text “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA”. Below them are the denomination and abbreviated monetary unit “5000 Kč”. The text “MĚSTSKÉ PAMÁTKOVÉ REZERVACE” is written around the left-hand edge of the coin. The mark of the Czech Mint, made up of the letters “Č” and “M”, is situated at the right-hand bottom edge of the coin. The reverse side features a collage of Gothic and Renaissance town houses in its upper part. A silhouette of the tower of the Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is located in the lower left part of the coin. Under the tower is the sgraffito plaster on the Town Hall’s courtyard walls from 1565, along with a detail of the fountain in the chateau’s courtyard and the plague column from 1718. The text “MĚSTO MORAVSKÁ TŘEBOVÁ” and the year of mintage “2024” are in the centre of the coin. The initials of the designer of the coin Zbyněk Fojtů, made up of the letters “F” and “Z”, are located to the left of the plague column.
Each coin comes with a red catalogue card containing a description and the relief of the coin.
