Gold trade coin (Czech ducat) depicting Saint Wenceslas

On 17 September 2024 the Czech National Bank is issuing a gold trade coin (Czech ducat) depicting Saint Wenceslas. The coin is minted from an alloy containing 9861/9 parts gold and 138/9 parts copper. It is issued in normal quality and has milled edges. The coin is 19.75 mm in diameter, weighs 3.49 g and is 0.85 mm thick. Deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. Upward deviations in weight of 2% and in gold content of 2% are allowed.

The obverse side features the Czech lion. The text “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA” is written around the outer circle of the coin. The individual letters of this text are separated by linden leaves. The year of mintage “2024” is situated at the lower edge of the coin. The mark of the Czech Mint, in the form of the letters “Č” and “M”, is to the right of the letter "B”. The reverse side of the coin features a portrait of Saint Wenceslas wearing a helmet. The text “SVATÝ VÁCLAVE NEDEJ ZAHYNOUTI NÁM I BUDOUCÍM” and “ČESKÝ DUKÁT” is written around the outer circle of the coin. The words of the text “SVATÝ VÁCLAVE NEDEJ ZAHYNOUTI NÁM I BUDOUCÍM” are separated by dots. The words of the text “ČESKÝ DUKÁT” are marked on both sides with crosses. The initials of the designer of the coin Vladimír Oppl, made up of the letters “V” and “O”, are to the right of the text “SVATÝ”.
