CNB Governor Aleš Michl and his adviser Tomáš Adam summarise their views on the causes of current inflation in their blog article: “The high inflation rate in the Czech Republic mainly reflects the pass-through of high energy prices and other costs to prices and the expectation of strong demand following the lockdowns. In our opinion, there are several question marks over the real strength of domestic demand.”
