CNB to start issuing commemorative coins devoted to major Czech institutions
The Czech National Bank is expanding its schedule of issuance of commemorative and trade coins and banknotes to include silver coins devoted to important Czech institutions. It will issue the first two CZK 100 coins from this cycle in 2024.
The new cycle of commemorative coins will be called Institutions of the Czech Republic. The first coins, which the CNB will issue next year, will feature the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Security Information Service.
The silver CZK 100 coins will be minted of silver having a fineness of 925/1000, weigh 9 grams and have a diameter of 29 millimetres. They will be produced in proof quality and the coin issue is limited to a maximum of 50,000 silver coins.
The coins can be purchased through selected contractual partners (available in Czech only). The CNB does not sell numismatic material directly to the public.
The Schedule of issuance for commemorative banknotes and coins in 2021–2025 is available on the CNB website under Banknotes and coins > Numismatics.
