Triennial Central Bank Survey of Foreign Exchange and Derivatives Market Activity in 2022
In April 2022, a survey was conducted on turnover on the foreign exchange market and the derivatives market. A total of 52 central banks or similar authorities from all around the world participated in the survey, including the Czech National Bank. As in previous years, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) coordinated this project. The objective of this survey is to obtain information on the size and structure of the foreign exchange and derivatives markets, which serves not only central banks and market participants, but also both academics and the general public.
The attached tables contain aggregate data, collected by the Czech National Bank, on the nominal turnover of transactions in individual financial instruments executed in the Czech Republic in April 2022. The global data collected by the BIS, based on the contributions of all participating central banks, can be found on the website below. The figures are in millions of USD.
The following eight banks participated in this survey in the Czech Republic: COMMERZBANK AG, Prague branch, Česká spořitelna a.s., Československá obchodní banka a.s., Citibank Europe plc, Max banka a.s., ING Bank N.V., Komerční banka a.s. and Raiffeisenbank a.s.
