Kateřina Šmídková receives the VIA BONA 2015 award in memoriam

Professor Kateřina Šmídková, former Executive Director of the Czech National Bank’s Economic Research Department, has received the VIA BONA 2015 award in memoriam. The purpose of this prestigious award is to publicly reward charity work in the Czech Republic. Kateřina, who lost her battle with serious illness in 2014, left one million koruna to the Czech Economic Society. Thanks to this donation, an outstanding Czech female economic researcher now receives the CZK 100,000 “Kateřina Šmídková Award” every two years. More information.
